last Sunday i went walkin in the stawy palowickie park in palowice Poland. it was wonderfull to see a white-tailed eagle (sea-eagle). very interesting was also to see a common buzzard attacking the eagle… All pictures taken by me and copyrighted

next up is the abbeychurch in Laach, a romanesque church some 90km south of Cologne. it is a benedictine abbey, and has some nice stained glass, a large mosaic and an interesting eastercandle holder. unfortunately it was pretty dark inside, so taking the pictures was a challenge but not impossible. please check here for more.

It took a while but here is the next addition, this time not a stained glass but a painted ceiling from around 1200 in the saint Michaels church in Hildesheim. it was a big project as there are a lot of figures, and some were hard to figure out, luckily i found some more specialised…

newest addition is a series of windows in the mariacki church in Katowice, by Adam Bunsch, on the virtues and the vices. they are a bit more modern, as from 1939. but it is a beautiful set. for more please go here

we continue our look into the Our-Lady-Of-Pamele church, this time with the windows in the choir, showing 19 images of indiviual persons, namely 12 apostles and Jesus as King in the middle, flanked by Mary and Joseph and Mary’s parents Joachim and Anna. for a detail of all check here

It took a while because this one has a lot to describe, it is a set of nine windows with each 4 or 9 more details. but here they are, enjoy, and happy reading here a couple of teaser pictures (for more see the link!)

i know, it has been a while, but a trip to Belgium (gathering material as well for the site on several places) delayed the work a bit, but now ready for publication is the last part of the stained glass windows in the Saint Walburga Church in Oudenaarde, the central part behind the main altar.…
